One of the products attracting plenty of interest on the exhibition floor this week has been Aristocrat’s latest twist on the classic “5 Dragons” family.
“5 Dragons Gold” Hit It Hot is a deterministic mystery standalone progressive that builds anticipation by informing players when a jackpot is nearing its “must hit” level.
“One of the trends in the market is mystery links sitting over the top of core games, so what we’ve done here is marry up strong core games in ‘5 Dragons Gold’ and ‘5 Dragons Deluxe’ with a deterministic mystery standalone progressive over the top,” explained Aristocrat’s Sales & Business Development Director – Asia Pacific, Lloyd Robson.
“What that means is the progressive link is specific to the machine, so the player will be playing ‘5 Dragons Gold’ and driving the standalone progressive. It becomes a personal jackpot – the player knows their money is feeding that jackpot.
“Importantly they’ve also got a deterministic jackpot which means it must hit by a certain level and the player can see when it’s getting close to that limit.”
Robson, who was named one of the industry’s Rising Stars at the G2E Asia Awards on Tuesday night, also sees great potential in “5 Dragons Gold” Hit It Hot across multiple segments.
“We can see this landing in VIP rooms with the larger players knowing it’s their money driving that jackpot, but given the success in Asia of standalone games we see a place for them on the mass floor too,” he said.
“It’s really a brand extension of the ‘5 Dragons’ family that the market knows and loves.”
